this is my go-to place for a local flight for breakfast or lunch. their ranch burger is one of my favorites. it's a small place and they usually have one cook and one server, but I've never had to wait too long for anything. my only complaint, which has NOTHING to do with the restaurant, is parking. it's pretty tight on the ramp. otherwise, this is a great local option. We flew into Hickory on a weekday to avoid the crowds, get fuel and see the museum. We were seated promptly and there were a few folks seated inside. I'd eaten here before, just prior to Covid-19, and it was pretty good, food, service and price. However this time was just awful. Apparently they were slammed, mainly with take-out orders. We waited 45 minutes for our order, the signature blue cheese burgers. We ordered our burgers medium, but they were very well done, almost crispy. The buns were hard, the sweet potato fries over-cooked. We didn't eat most of our meal except for the regular fries which was the only item not cooked to a crisp. Service was slow after they took our order, I had to get up and ask for tea re-fills. I gave this place 2 Stars, but it really was a 1 Star visit. I'll make one more visit and hopefully the outcome will be better. Your mileage may vary. Reviewed by Buck Ramsey on 2021-07-10 |

Terrific place to stop! Great food, very friendly and accommodating staff, plenty of room (outside the restaurant in the old terminal building) for our toddler to run around, and a small collection of interesting planes right there on the ramp at the Hickory Aviation Museum. So glad we stopped there and we'll be happy to return! Reviewed by Brent Wright on 2012-09-18 |

I was pleasantly surprised by this small place. The food was excellent, and the portions were generous. Lots of fly-in traffic here too, apparently. Reviewed by Tom McGurk on 2012-07-01 |

I've been here twice and both times were VERY nice. Took my mom(91) last time and she enjoyed the nice lunch. Was pretty busy with local traffic (non-pilots) which tell you a bit about the quality. I'm looking forward to going back soon. Reviewed by Bill Heybruck on 2011-08-15 |
