The Southern Flyer Diner at Brenham Muni (11R)
Rating: 5 out of 5.
The Southern Flyer Diner is everything an airport restaurant should be, and it shows. This 50's themed diner has been packed every time I have been there. You must have a milkshake, which is what they are known for. Outstanding decor, quick service, great food, reasonable prices, and if you are lucky, as I have been, you will see something cool on the ramp when you leave.

The Beacon Cafe at Hicks Airfield (T67)
Rating: 5 out of 5.
The Beacon Cafe is the perfect $100 hamburger airport joint. There is ample parking for cars and planes, the ambiance is just right, and the food is great and reasonably priced. The place has been been fairly busy the couple of times I have been there, which is great as it seemed most of the patrons were aviators. It feels good to visit a place where general aviation is alive and thriving!

Spruce Goose Cafe at Jefferson County Intl (0S9)
Rating: 5 out of 5.
Great service and views, good food and the best pie in the NW. TIP: Have them set your slice of pie aside when you get there, because they run out all the time.

Can be easily walked to from the airport and the airport folks eat here due to the convenience, but it's not a destination kind of place. It is not an airport restaurant in any sense except proximity (not thematic, no view, no ambiance, etc.) The food is a bit below average IMO, especially when there is killer BBQ a couple of miles down the road.

London Deli & Subs at London-Corbin Arpt-Magee Fld (LOZ)
Rating: 4 out of 5.
We flew into KSRB on our way from Austin to Washington D.C. just because there was a restaurant on the field. We arrived around 3 p.m. well after any potential lunch rush. There was only one person working and we were the only diners, though there were a number of locals drinking at the bar. Service was quite slow with only one person cooking, waiting tables, and tending bar, but the food was very good. Although we visited in winter and did not want to sit outside, you can see air traffic from the outdoor patio.

Airport Cafe at Montgomery County Airpark (GAI)
Rating: 3 out of 5.
The great thing about GAI is just how busy it is. I love to see a healthy airport. On a January morning, I had to park in line for avgas! This little airport restaurant, which is tucked into a corner of the FBO, has decent views and was packed with people on the day of our visit. Service was quite slow, the food was average, and the ambiance minimal, but the people were very nice. If you are flying in VFR, remember this airport is inside the SFRA!

Nancy's Airport Cafe at Willows-Glenn County (WLW)
Rating: 4 out of 5.
I had a good lunch there today and am raising my evaluation to 4. The service was friendly, salad good and chicken fried steak very good. If you order the Senior special, you can get a slice of pie to go for only an additional $2.

Airport Substation at Chico Muni (CIC)
Rating: 2 out of 5.
I tried to eat there today but they were closed at 1:30. If you plan to go there for lunch, call first.
