The Casual Palate Reviews |
Rating: 4 out of 5.
First time here. Superior food, nice atmosphere. Trees at the end of runway make a steep approach helpful, at least in a Bonanza. Snow was poorly plowed and little area for parking aircraft. Not the restaurants fault. Turning off the runway on to the taxiway required me to go over some snow piles. It last snowed a week ago. No excuse. Reviewed by Glen Radovich on 2018-01-21 |

Heaven! Don't pass by this gem nestled out in the woods near the Hudson river. As a CFI at an area field, it's such a pleasure to take friends out here, and it's in the perfect position to make a return trip down past the skyline. Cool airport, awesome restaurant (not your usual airport field place, people actually drive out of their way to this place) definitely worth the stop by air. If I could just figure out how the runway lights work... Reviewed by Jeff Praskac on 2014-03-15 |

Great food and atmosphere... New name.. Not just an airport diner but a real destination. A "lodge" atmosphere, fireplace, real nice. You can taxi right up to the restaurant. Trees and a hill on the approach to the 30 foot wide runway. Great food! Reviewed by Tom Forleo on 2013-12-01 |

Now called Nu-Cavu and one of my favorite stops for lunch or dinner - it's a real restaurant - not your typical greasy spoon... Nothing better than the outside dining watching the planes come and go... Reviewed by Scott BrunnerScottB on 2013-08-04 |

Met some friends for dinner and have to say the place had a great atmosphere, interesting menu and excellent food. Plenty of parking on the grass right outside. Watch the trees landing from the west. Reviewed by Alasdair Crawford on 2008-09-11 |

This is a more relaxed airport. After I shut down the engine I saw a few people playing frisbee and others enjoying happy hour. Inside you will find a rustic restaurant that I am guessing has a lively weekend life. The food was fantastic! I recommend the pizza w/ shrimp. My wife enjoyed the beer selection! I will definately go back. Reviewed by Ryan Ragan on 2008-07-08 |

When you taxi up from the runway, you can see right away this is no ordinary $100 hamburger. The Casual Palate looks like a mountain lodge. There is a huge fireplace and beams on the ceilings. The food is very interesting and unique. I haven't gotten the same thing anytime I've gone. This is the airport restaurant I bring all my friends to when I want them to see a great ride up the Hudson Corridor and awesome food. Reviewed by Allan Beiderman on 2007-11-23 |
