Lamberts Reviews

Rating: 5 out of 5.
The shuttle van is still a thing, even during a pandemic. Very nice gentleman running the FBO called for us as he picked us up on the ramp in a golf cart; he obviously has them on speed dial. Food was excellent. It's a little pricy, but they make up for it in volume....I recommend skipping lunch and going for dinner. The rolls are better than advertised and they will not hesitate to throw one across the room to you. Fun place to fly to!

Lamberts is a tourist attraction restaurant & home of the "Thro'd Roll" (there is one in Springfield Mo as well). Lines are typically long and it can take over an hour to be seated. The great news for pilots is that, although the restaurant is about 2 miles away, they have a shuttle van service to and from the airport. The airport staff will usually greet you at your plane and ask if you are going to the Lambert's and will call before you get tied down. The shuttle driver will take you in the back way and you get to skip the lines! Be sure and tip your driver. After a great dinner of country homestyle cooking they zip you back to your plane and off you go. Fuel is usually quite reasonable on the airport too. KSIK and Lambert's is a go to flyout location for those in Missouri and the midwest.

A truly great experience and the FBO and restaurant go out of their way to make it a great experience. It's a treat taking guests and seeing their surprise when you're escorted in the back door for preferential seating.

Flew in on 9/24/11. Shuttle was waiting for us. Slipped in the out door and got immediate seating. Had the usual great service, great environment, and reasonable prices.

The airport is under construction. Taxiway being redone, but runway is repaved and in excellent shape. The only access to the runway is at the end of 2 and you have to backtaxi to 20 but the construction looks like it is going well and should be done soon.

The perfect spot for a weekend fly-in ... from ANYWHERE! Great hospitality and timely service! It's a the top of my list to take friends and family for a flying get away.

Lamberts is the "home of the throwed roll". Contact UNICOM about 10 out and let them know you will be going to Lamberts. The shuttle van will be waiting for you when you park. Don't be discouraged about the ridiculous long lines when you arrive as the driver will escort you through the back door!

The only word of caution is to double check your w&b upon departure :)
