I took my son here during for some ice cream and flying. We flew in from the Charlotte area because flying for ice cream is always better than driving. The staff was super nice and cheerful. They have food options but we only came for the ice cream. If arriving by air, there is a ramp by the beginning of Runway 23 that has tie downs in between the two hangers. You literally walk through a pedestrian gate onto their patio. There is also a playground for kids.

Through a gate from the north ramp area, so technically this might be a "short walk." (But it's close enough for me to label it "On the airport.") I only had ice cream, but the folks with sandwiches seemed happy with them and I gave it four stars for that.
