People fly,drive and ride from all over SoCal to eat here. The food and atmosphere are fantastic!
It's no greasy spoon, but it's has fantastic burgers and fries. The menu works for just about everybody.
It's dog and kid friendly and there are always some interesting planes and people to see. Don't forget to check parking lot for some interesting cars and motorcycles.

One of the best airport cafés I've ever visited. The recent remodel has made the restaurant even more attractive, and it is consistently busy with both fly-in and drive-in clientele. (On a recent visit the table next to ours was occupied by a group of motorcyclists from Los Angeles, one of whom turned out to be the actor Keanu Reeves!) Be sure to try the delicious Burger Salad.

Tri tip is still delicious! I had the sandwich, which comes with a side of bacon baked beans and fries or potato salad and a pickle, all of which was good. Wife had the BBQ Chicken Smokehouse Salad, which was enormous and pretty good too.
The cafe is near the eastern end of the airport, abeam taxiway G2. Follow signs for the ramp and look for the green umbrellas. It was packed on a Saturday at 11 am -- about a 20-minute wait for a table.
On final approach, look for police driver training activity on the lengthy displaced threshold below you.

The tri-tip sandwiches Wednesday and weekends are worth the flight. This is a classic airport restaurant, although a recent remodel seems to have diminished some of the atmosphere. You can park right in front and watch arrivals from the patio.

The tri tip sandwiches are awesome! One thing, though: they changed owners and now they're only open until 4:00 pm. But, they have tri tip every day now.

I dropped into Camarillo the other day to get out of the desert heat. Camarillo's fairly close to the Pacific Ocean, so the year-round climate there is very nice. I showed up after the morning marine cloud layer burned off and parked next to another RV-6 right next to the restaurant. I ordered a cheeseburger & fries - both were great.
Their patio is typically the most popular place to sit. Most tables have umbrellas, so you stay out of the sun while you enjoy your meal & the airport atmosphere. As typical for the Waypoint Cafe, there's a "car crowd" and an "airplane crowd." The car crowd was checking out the airplanes & the airplane crowd was checking out the cars.
Overall, very good food with an enjoyable atmosphere. Well worth the trip!

Awesome Tri Tip sandwiches on the weekend. The local Porsche Club meets here on Saturday quite often before their weekend drives.
