The Southernaire Reviews

Rating: 4 out of 5.
Easy to get to, good prices, and decent food. It's a step up from a diner but not as fancy as a chain restaurant. And a million times better than any fast food! Easy to get to as well - just leave the airport and turn left (west). Follow the road to the end of the runway and up the little hill and you'll be there - less than 2000'. (Heck, it's 1500' to the end of the runway.)

Still as good as ever!

Flew in on 9/17/11. Runway is perfect and the grass is cut where the paths are and the food is still best around. Had lunch with a Reuben for the wifey and hamburger steak for me. Both were excellent and there was too much to eat. If it isn't busy you can park your plane at the turnaround on 8 and it is a much shorter walk than parking at the hangars.

The runway has been resurfaced and is in good condition. Park in the grass at the west end for a short walk across the road or on the ramp at midfield. Breakfast was excellent and I'm sure lunch would be just as good. The restaurant is closed for 3 weeks in January when they take a vacation.

The runway is scheduled to be repaved June '09. Call before flying in there.

We fly here regularly for one of the greatest meals in the area. I highly recommend this if you are anywhere near M93. The place is at the west end of the runway and north across the street.
